First, please bring out your warrior spirit to help children battling life-threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders by participating in the 9th Annual Mitchell Thorp Foundation 5K on Saturday, February 3rd at 8:30 a.m. It will take place at Poinsettia Park in Carlsbad. There will be a family fun festival and great prizes for all ages at the event. We encourage you to show your school spirit by joining your school’s team. We hope you’ll come out to be part of the fun, and to help remind the world that Kindness Matters.

Finally, we hope you’ll participate in two events benefiting the Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF). The 2018 Celebrate Carlsbad Day will take place on Saturday, March 3 at Legoland; discounted tickets can be purchased at, and all proceeds go to support our robotics programs for all 2nd grade students in Carlsbad Unified schools. Also, please sign up now for CEF’s 4th Annual Pedal for a Purpose, to be held on Saturday, March 24 at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.
