Each year, as part of our reflection on and analysis of, student achievement scores and grade level proficiency, staff at Calavera Hills identifies strengths and areas of focus within our instructional program. Analysis begins with discussion of schoolwide test scores for English/Language Arts and Mathematics, extends to grade level dialogue of student performance and instructional program, and ultimately results in identification of focus areas for instructional improvement at our site.
This year's goals will target staff training, instructional program, and materials support towards the following areas:
SCHOOL GOAL # 1 The percentage of students scoring at the proficient or advanced level in English Language Arts and mathematics will increase by 10% during the 2009-10 school year as measured by 2010 CST. Students at proficient or advanced levels will maintain high performance.
SCHOOL GOAL # 2 All subgroups will score 50% proficient or advanced in the areas of ELA and mathematics in 2009-10 as measured by 2010 CST.
SCHOOL GOAL # 3 The percentage of fourth grade students scoring proficient or advanced (rubric 6 or higher) in writing will increase by 10% during the 2009-10 school year as measured by CST and district benchmark assessments.
